So i've seen threads on this in the past, but there seems to be multiple reasons why other RX 300s sounds like their gurgling anyways...

My RX 300 has had a small gurgling noise (almost sounds like bubbles), coming from the center/right part of the rear part of the dashboard. Any clue as to what is causing it? I'm assuming it's air bubbles in the cooling system.

I should also add that the gurgling varies in frequency so no it does not sound like a ticking timer like others have expereinced.

 

Is this a new problem or did it start after a procedure? Also check if the noise is from engine bay. With engine cold, open the radiator cap and check the coolant level.

I have a "gurgling"-type noise coming from the dash (doesn't sounds like a liquid gurgling, though) which sounds more like an AC damper continuously opening and closing (?). It's a coarse, worn-out plastic bearing-type noise.

That would be more like mechanical wheel/gear making noise when they spin. [reminds me of those critter trying to climb up on a wheel, which keeps on turning under their weight]. To eliminate that as a source, you can move out of the auto-mode [A/c] and set the mode to any position of your liking. IN auto mode the ducts are perpetually [as it seems] move to get you the most sought after conditioned air in circulation.

I still got to check the coolant temp.

So I followed your advise salim, and when i switch off auto mode the noises go down drastically but aren't completely gone. If I max out the heater all noise is gone completely.

 

We are talking level right?

I think we are talking air bubbles in coolant. That's the only thing I know that can gurgle.

 

Yeah sorry salim, i know you were replying to another person, but i did what you said and it worked.

I should also update that the gurgling is now completely gone except for some rare exceptions, seems like driving the car more fixed it, so odd.
