2000 Lexus RX 300 Rear Wiper Washer not working
I have a 2000 Lexus RX 300 with 225k miles. The rear wiper squirt does not work. First used a pin to clean out port. No luck. It may be the motor pump. Don't hear a pumping sound. If its the pump, how do I get to it to replace. Thanks for your help.
The pump motor for the front and the rear is the same in the same reservoir. The motor just spins the opposite direction.
Just trace down the filler neck to locate the reservoir. The pump sits at the bottom. Access is by removing the plastic shield on the passenger side front corner.
You can start by checking voltage at the connector [+12v for front and -12v for the back]. Or taking the motor out and bench test it [check for reverse spin with reverse voltage].

Problem can be in any of the following places [not a comprehensive list]
Stalk switch
Wiring to the motor
motor itself
valves which direct the output
hose and connector leading to the squirt nozzle [blockage and leaks]
nozzle
all connectors in the wiring from the the stalk to the motor.

What did you find to be the cause of the issue? I'm facing the same thing now!
Trending Topics
There are many reasons for the squirt not to work.
Does it squirt the rear windshield [see the rear windshield wash position on the stalk]
Out of washer fluid. [if you hit something, the reservoir bottle could have split]
Windshield washer fluid frozen up in the nozzle, pipes or in the bottle. [Based on where you operate your vehicle, you must use specific temp range fluid]
Nozzle(s) clogged up.
Pump motor burnt out.
Switch gone bad.
Fuse blown.
The washer reservoir can be accessed by removing partially or all of the wheel fender plastic. With time the plastic looses flexibility, so exercise caution and don't over bend it.
The motor has a connector and fits int he reservoir with an O ring. You test for voltage [ligt tester 5w will give you right results, as the voltmeter may give you false voltage if any segment of the wire has resistive connection].
Also note that the pump is capable of sending the fluid to the front windshield or the rear windshield. It spins in different direction.
If the sprayer is clogged, you can use a pin, but it might impact the spray pattern. There is a proper tool but not worth investing in it. Lexus uses the tool to adjust nozzle position per spec.
