Motor or Pump?
I am uncertain if I need to replace the windshield washer motor or the pump for my 2001 RX300.
Even though the reservoir was full of fluid, the rear washer would not work. Now, the front washer fluid is unavailable. The wipers are operable front and back. Is this a DIY project? Where would parts be most afforadable? Thanks.

Frank, I was surprised at how easy it actually was to replace the pump. I went to my Lexus dealer for the pump 68.00. But is a direct fit (Denso) replacement pump. Not the fits-em-all pump`s they tried to sell me at the auto parts stores. I would have gotten it from my local Toyota dealer, but they had to order it. It was the weekend, and i just wanted to get it over with. You will loose all of you washer fluid when you do this,( I wouldn`t try and re-use due to contanimation) as these pumps seem very susectable to any kind of dirt. And flush out the res. tank with clean water when you do this job. Mine had some real fine dirt at the bottom of the tank. BTW,the pump spins in one direction for the front washer, and another direction for the rear. My pump was actually cracked, from freezing. I guess the previous owner didnt always use the proper fluid.
