Need to get alignment and other related things?
I was wondering how important is it to get an alignment? I don't believe we get them done on our cars and they steer fine though treadwear may be a different story. Aside from treadwear is alignment important for safety? Our cars are high mileage now and I'd like to know if suspension related components do wear out and need to be replaced after a certain age, and if it's something that needs to be inspected diligently.

Suspension needs be examined and if some work is done then alignment will be required.
Wheel rotation typically takes care of minor wear.
If there is no slop in steering and no abnormal clunks and abnormal wear (typically indicated by inner edge wear), I would say dont worry.
