Default P1305 code

I have an 2000 RX 300 I have the code P1305 I have replaced all 6 ignition coils and spark plugs. The car is bucking and loosing power it also has multiple misfires. My mechanic says it is the ECM. Has anyone else had the code/problem?

dont throw parts at it. waste of money. have qualified technician diagnose it. A p1305 is a No. 2 Igniter Circuit Malfunction.

Was that the original code before you started changing parts?
Any other codes now, other than misfires?

Default p1305/ replaced # coil and plug

replaced and cleared codes. I cross tested new coil and #4 coil stll getting a miss fire. I know the RX300 is know to have ECM problems. I have found several places that rebuild and reprogram. Does any one have a removal procedure or any other possibilities?

Not sure what lead you to think the ECM of RX is down to have problems. Over the years, I have not seen any one report ECU problems. Even if one or two did, it would be statistically very small number.

Check for pinched wires.

I have found that this 1st gen has many issues with the ECM going bad and needing to be refurbished. The processors lag and go bad. I called lexus to price the part and the also stated they had many issues with the ecm's having to be replaced on the 1st gen. Do you know the location of the ecm and how to remove so i can mail it in for a reprogram/refurbish?

you can get a salvage ECM for less than 200 on car-part.com however, i also think it is rare for an ecm problem. I'd check your ignition harnesses for any possible damage. Rodents can cause havoc on wiring.
