Default Keys

Can you tell me how reliable the lexus keys are? Does the key break easily? Does it feel weak and flimsy when you put it in the lock and turn it? Is it better than those keys with just the key in it and not the remote? I want to buy a pre owned lexus and I want to make sure that the key will not fall apart. Please any info would help

Thank You

I've had no problems in the year that I've used my Lexus remote key.
There's nothing about it that I would call flimsy.
I've dropped it a few times, and no problems.

The keys should be the least of your worries when determining what car to buy.

Ive used mine for almost 4 years without a battery replacement yet. Nothing is flimsy. I personally like the integrated remote and key. I hate carrying around extra stuff on a key chain.

Make sure that you get 2 Master keys and a valet key. If you have only 1 master key and lose it, the bill is very high.

Well, I hate to be the naysayer in the crowd, but look for another thread on keys. Lexus parts department will admit the case and key combination will break.

well, non of keys in the market is non breakable. Of course anything will break soon or later, but I had my lexus for 5years now and I had no problem using it. Matter in fact, I never used keys to open doors for 5years I ony used remote control. Keys are least thing to worry about when you buying a car.

You could not be more correct. The key is not what decisions are made on.

It is just annoying that you get an acknowledgement from the parts department that the key case does, in fact, break at times.
