Default iPod or iPhone AUX Connection

After searching thru threads and so much detail info on splicing into the CD unit, couldn't find what I was looking for.

I'm looking for a simple way to add an AUX connection to my wife's 2001 RX300, so she can connect her iPod or iPhone to play her music thru the radio.

Help and suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

I used to use an FM transmitter, but over the past 6 years I've used the Monster iCarPlay--and I'm way more satisfied. As long as your cassette player works, it's a great buy!

Or, Grom Audio is another option that you may want to consider. While it's little bit expensive, I like the fact that I can play radio apps via Bluetooth from my Android phone and play my MP3s from iPod.

A cassette adapter or an FM modulator (only the type that pug into your antenna) will allow you to keep your CD changer. The Dice, Grom, etc, units replace the CD changer which may or may not bother your.

I'm a big fan of the GROM adapter -- easily wired in place (look at the RX300 installation video on the gromaudio.com website), but it only works on the non-Nakamichi system. It's under $100, and does inactivate the CD changer as pointed out above, but the CD controls will then operate the iPod. My other RX has Nakamichi, and I wired in an iSimple FM transmitter which also works very well and doesn't inactivate the CD changer. It was $44 online. It involves a little more disassembly of the console, but it is still easy to install. Both systems only have the iPod cable coming out as any evidence something's been added.

Sorry for bumping older threads, just wanted to post the DIY in case the OP decided to get it.
