Can you guys help me find a place that sells the most affordable shell case for the keyless entry? I strill have the key, I can turn on the engine, remotes buttons work, and everything is fine except it looks like this:
As you can see, it's cracked but not completely. I almost lost the remote buttons because the shell split in two and the remote fell out. Good thing I noticed.
1. Shell half with the key blade molded in.
2. Electronics
3. The other half shell.
I was once in the Lexus parts dept and the associate rummaged through a bin and gave the item#3 for free to a customer ... it was cannibalized from some key. If #3 is broken, check with Lexus parts and if they are as nice as Lexus of Austin, you can have one for free.

#1 and #2 are both broke and cracked. I don't understand how i'm supposed to replace just #1 if the key blade is molded in. Wouldn't I have to pay a butt load of money to get the new key laser cut?

I said #3 can be had for free. Cracked #2 is hard for me to visualize. If possible post a pic.
Next cheaper option is to by an uncut key and have it cut by the seller.
If #2 is broken, then search on net for some one selling an old one.

They are good and will last you at least a few years if not more. Once you get them, take your old key and this blank to a local locksmith and they should be able to grind the key for you for about $20
Put the old electronics back into this new shell
I had the same issue and it worked beautifully. The key quality is good and this is the cheapest way to replace it.
Purchased replacements from a guy/company on eBay (Rocket-keys). 2 keys minus the electronics for $40 - CUT & SHIPPED for free. And, you get your choice of colors.
You'll need your 4-figit keycode in order to have him cut it for you. Or he can also work off of a picture (although I'd be less likely to trust that method).
