I just bought a used rx300. It only came with one remote/key. I'm having a hard time programming a new key (the remote proges fine). It came with instructions and stated you could only have three keys max programmed. My question is how safe us it to wipe out memory?

 

It has been a number of years since I did it, but my recollection is that it works like a shift register, i.e., the new keys push out the oldest keys when you max out on keys. I'd search this forum for instructions on how to do the process if you are having problems. I thought the maximum number of keys was higher, like maybe 7, but it has been years since I looked.

 

Thanks for your input. We were able to program the key using instructions from this forum and not the instructions that came with the key. I'm very thankful for this website!
