I too do not recall Lexus installing running boards from factory. They were available at the dealer at time of delivery.
I've seen RX's with aftermarket running boards installed, and that's probably the cheapest solution as well.
There was never OEM running boards for the first gen RX300.
I have custom pair of black step tubes with silver instead of black step inserts. It goes well with the silver wheels. I special ordered them from Waag years ago.
Lexus dealers didn't have much customer interest in running boards for the RX and stopped carrying the running boards.
I am 99% sure that Toyota/Lexus made a, dealer installed, factory set of running boards for the RX300.... but I think REDROCKS is correct, that they discontinued them early during the model run.
I have seen a few pictures of RX300's, where the front splash guard was integrated, or one continuous piece of the running boards, this is the reason I'm certain there was an OEM set.
Okay...saw an RX in a parking lot that had OEM running boards.
I like the integration with the splash guard, but not to crazy about the contours where the board meets the rocker panel.
Anyway, these seem to be impossible to find so I may be stuck with aftermarket.
I'm pretty sure they are....No aftermarket companies offer the running boards with the splash guard built-in.
My uncle has this same exact set on his 99' RX, I can try to get a receipt or who manufactured them...if your looking to get them that is.
We had them installed at a aftermarket shop in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
