Default Garage Door opener

New member - first post.
I just got a 2002 RX300 and for the life of me I can't get the garage door opener to work.
I have reset the buttons and got the rapid blinking light, saying the codes have been accepted. But, when I try it, no luck.
any ideas.

Steve

Could you be more specific which buttons, etc. Many openers have rolling codes. On this type of opener, you need to press a button inside, on the garage door opener, during programming to let the opener know you are an authorized user. Have you read the instruction manual for your garage door opener?

I think you have successfully programmed the transmitter. The Garage opener [the one attached to the door] needs to be programmed to accept a new transmitter [your RX].

Typically you have to press a button on the opener and within 10 sec or so energize the transmitter (your RX button). The opener typically flashes the light bulb once or twice to confirm it has learnt the code.

Check the garage door opener manual or list the manufacturer here ... [may be some can help]

Not only "new" car but "new" house and no manual for the door opener.

I did have the Lexus dealer program the buttons in the car per the Lexus owners manual.

I will try finding and pressing a button on the opener.

Thanks for the help.

Salimhah and Carguy,

Thanks so much for both of your posts. The description and video were very helpful.

I can't wait to try it when I get back.

Sorry for the delay in closing this one - problem solved. There was a "Learning" button on the motor housing.

Thanks to all.

Thank you for confirming/closing. This helps future readers. Else they wonder if the solution suggested was ever useful.

Hope to hear from you more often and join our discussions. If you can do post the picture of your ride.

Thanks +1 for the info, turns out we have a learning button on our motor as well. Got it working on my RX. Does anyone know if it will work with both of our RX's before I try ?

You can have multiple remotes that would work on a single door. I am sure there is a limit, but have not run into it .. I have 5 remotes operating on one door.

The fifth is not a car .. it is the key-pad [programming procedure is exactly the same].
