Any of you guy`s use a conventional oil, that really seems to perform well in your RX? I.E Pennzoil,Quakerstate etc.I`m getting kind of tired of such expensive oil changes.Plus Mr.RX is getting older now,and I`m not sure just how much longer I`m going to keep it.
Engines have been running on conventional oil for billions of miles. The key is to replace it regularly.
WithOUT scientific data at hand, I would only recommend to stay with the same make and try not to switch from synthetic to conventional frequently. I would suggest going to mix formulation to ease the shock and back off if you see leaks.

I agree with V4tuna- I have used Castrol for many many years and I personally don't think there's a finer dino oil on the market. Since it is the only Castrol I have used I can't speak for the others, but I have used other brands in the past and I would not use anything but Castrol. My '04 F-150 uses Motorcraft Semi only because I can buy it so cheap at Wally World, but all my past F-150's have used Castrol from new with excellent results.
