stankdoodoo, remember you have AAA service included with your lexus for 3yrs/36k miles if you need to have it towed in.

I read in the manual that if you have a metallic device touching the housing (not the key ring hole part) of the key or another device with a transponder in it next to the key, it could cause your engine to stop running.

I don't know if this is really true, but they must have put it in the manual for some reason. I tested this a few times, but the car still started ok??!!

my $0.02,

Wasn't there a problem of this type that involved an RF, wireless, style remote garage door opener on the same keyring with the Lexus ignition key?

Default rpm drop

My suv is running so I don't need to tow it YET. This has happened to me three times in the last month. The car is fairly new so it is a concern. What gas do you guys suggest and what is ECU? Also I only have other keys and one of those grocery store id tags on my key holder. Thanx for the help!!!

I use premium grade gas, every time - 92 or 93 octane. I try and always go to a C-Store that has 93 octane. I use Chevron, Amoco, Texaco, or Conoco. Usually the only C-Stores that have 92 octane as premium grade is an off-branded store.

The ECU is the Electronic Control Unit. It is part of the vehicle's computer system that controls the engine with things such as air and fuel.
