High Mileage Mobil 1 10w-30
Has anyone used this oil in the RX 300??? I know the recommended oil is 5w-30
I have 80K on my 2001 RX and have used dino up to now....bought it with 60K and previous owner had used mobil one at "one time"....
Thanks....

I`d say where you are in AZ,hotter climate and all,you should be fine. You would probably only notice a slight drop in mpg,if anything at all.

but the "High Mileage" version of Mobil 1 doesn't qualify for ExxonMobil's rebate.

Personally,I think he would be much better off with GC. Especially with those hot day`s,and cool nights.

okay... it's after midnight here, so I'm a little confused...
What is "GC" (not ground coffee?)?

No,but a good thought process though..
GC is Castrol Syntec 0W-30 made in germany. (European Formula) And its very good stuff.

My only concern with switching to synthetic in this car is potential oil leaks..
I have run Mobil 1 in my Acura TL since 10K

I dont think that will be an issue. Unless you switch to the Syntec 5W-30with a cst of 9.7 (very thin) Syntec 0W-30 GC is 12.1 cst...= no worries...

my Lexus dealer always recommends Mobil 1. They charge an additional
$18 on top of the regualr oil/filter change fee. (but I always stop by the
Walmart across the street first... Mobil 1 is much cheaper there)
RX300's manual clearly shows that you can use both 5w-30 and 10w-30,
depending on the climate.
I highly doubt switching to synthetic can hurt any modern car engine.
(by modern I mean any engine produced in the last 10 years)

The Castrol oil 0-30 works great also....European blend....Seems like my engine was quieter, and mileage went up almost 1 mpg.....
