I'm replacing one of my headlamps but I'm not sure how difficult it is to remove the entire assembly.
Could anyone sorta guide me through the removal procedure? Any special tools needed?
I'm replacing the headlamp because water condensation on the inside of my current lamp has caused it to become too fogged (for lack of a better word) so I'm putting in another "new-to-me" assembly.
Sorry, I have no experience on the subject. Just didn't like seeing you hanging here all alone
One thing I have seen on removed RX headlight assemblies to watch out for is the tab that holds on the painted strip. Not exactly sure how it works but I often times see them broken. I have just noticed this on RX headlight assemblies I see for sale on ebay. Good luck.
I had a similar problem of water condensation in one of the headlights. The dealer was unable to dry them out; however, they did replace it under warranty. If your warranty has expired, one of the other topics in this forum tells you how to take the assembly out. I believe it's under the "clear corner" topic.
Put the vehicle in a warm garage for 4 hours, then remove one of the bulbs and fit a vacuum cleaner hose, or any vacuum source, "tightly" to the bulb fitting. Let the vacuum source run until it fully remove the condensation.
If you have a battery charger it wouldn't hurt to have the other bulbs in the assembly on, more heat, while doing this.
I believe to remove the headlamps, you'll need to remove the front bumper first.... I'm not too sure exactly how yet... I'll try to figure it out as well...
