Default Nav. "No Disk Detected"

I have this message on my nav screen. The dealer says I need a new DVD Unit/player, from a 2002 Rx 300(the exact model I have). He says that any other model year will not work. Huh?
Is there a workaround to find out if it is a malfunctioning DVD player in the trunk?
If it is the player, where can I get a reasonably price replacement?

Thanks, Roland

I'd spend $10 on a DVD/CD cleaner before I swap it out. Good luck.

Default No disk detected error - Need motor!

Hi,

I have this issue in my 2002 lx470 and have the unit out, but would like instructions and also where to find the motor or similiar replacement. I know this is a very old thread, but thought I'd try.

Thanks,
Todd
