I have a 1999 RX300. Recently, the antenna stopped going down. I hear the motor running, but the antenna stays up. Any easy fix solutions?

 

Yes it sounds like the nylon mast part of the antenna broke.I replaced mine in spring of this year.I went on e-bay and got a genuine Lexus antenna mast,for a lot less than the dealer wanted.Do a search on here,and you will find the directions on how to do it.I don`t want to tell you relying on my memory alone,Just make sure you get a genuine Lexus replacement.Or you might have a shorter life out of the mast.A little tip,I put some synthetic (light coat) grease on my mast when putting it back together.Works nice and smooth.Also get yourself a can of 100% Silicone spray,and wipe the antenna (chrome part) with it,wipe off extra film.I found this to be a very nice combination.And the dirt doesn`t seem to stick to the Silicone spray as much as it does to WD-40.I hope this help`s you,let us know how you make out,and were here if you have any more questions.
