on our 2003 RX300, bought it from wife's aunt 6/11/08, the cruise control has to be re"set" when starting travel from a stop. when i try pulling the cruise control lever up to "resume," nothing happens. i have to push the lever down to "set" cruise control again. we had a 2003 toyota sienna that did the same thing. drove me nuts! since on my previous vehicles, when you went to "resume" the vehicle went back up to the set cruise control speed.
now, we have a 2006 toyota sienna that resumes cruise speed when the cruise control lever is pulled up to "resume." i know it is stated in the users book (of the RX300) that it needs to be reset when falling below a certain speed and stopping. is there a fix/patch/replacement that will allow the RX300's cruise control to work like the 2006 toyota sienna?
All the cars I've driven have had cruise controls that have operated like the RX300. (I guess I don't get out too much ). I've been reading this forum for quite a few years and I don't think this has ever come up before, so I've never heard of a modification.
