Kharma, then Teaser...
Great... With the gas prices keep going up and up, I tend to take her out not as often as before. The day that I do take her out, on the way home I felt my steering wheel pull toward the right. I got home and looked at the passenger tire. Great... some jealous person stuck a drywall screw in my tire. It's ok. Kharma...(cause and effect) That guy will get his someday.
My question is this. I went to a tire shop and they wanted $30 to patch a tire from the inside. I said nope. I went to a different shop and paid $20 and all they did was jam a rubber sealant into the hole without dismantling the tire. Is this good enough? I got many more miles to go on these tires.
And on with the teaser... I was going to wait until summer to slap these on (I put this on while the flat was being repaired)
Feedbacks welcome..

You should be fine, I have used that patch method before (many times) Tire shops will not warrant it however. Your screw was getting close to the sidewall, a little more and the tire would be toast. good luck
What you got was a plug, instead of a patch. Which is better is debatable. Patch is more effective in the flat area and close to the edge, plug may be better. For sidewall, the patch would not work.
I would limit high speed/aggressive driving with the plugged tire. You can think about the repaired tire as spare.

In Mexico, the patch was always the exclusive way to go, I never saw the worm/gusano, a.k.a. plug. Down there, they charged just under $5 USD. I have had to do the patch a few times and no issues. But in the U.S., you should be equally as fine with either patch or plug.
I would heed Salim's advice on driving high speed/aggressive driving with the tire. Excessive heat can cause issues there.

I have one also in my tire. Its been plugged like this for about 2 years now with out any issues. I carry one of these self repair kits at all times next to my spare tire.

Glad you have had good luck with repaired tires BBlexus. The picture of repair shows the location close to the edge. [the photo can be deceiving]. This area gets flexed on each rotation and the chances of a blowout are higher. As thomas1 pointed out, any further out, the tire shop would refuse to repair for the same reason I stated.
If you have a perfectly good spare, bring that one in service and use the repaired tire as the spare.
