Default Time for Brakes

What are the most popular choice (brand) of rotors and pads amongst the community here? Preferbly not ones that are slotted or cross drilled.

Brembo
EBC
Mountain
Pilenga
Centric

lots to choose from.

Also use Akebonos. My experience with EBC Greenstuff was a lot of dust.

Rotora rotors and Akebono pads have been a nice match.

Any of you ever try painting your rotors (not on the surface where the pads come in contact) so that it doesn't rust and get all brown?

Was considering Centric rotors to avoid painting.

Anyone have any experience with Centric rotors?

My RX 300's rotors were a nice shade of brown, but for some reason the replacement front rotors on my 330 have not assumed that color - different finish?

It would require a high-temperature paint like a special caliper paint (epoxy, I think) or maybe just hit them with a light coat of barbecue paint (black). Dunno if that would work, but it might be better than rust. Alternatively, you could match the color of your rotors and have the car re-sprayed . . . at least it would be unique . . . and everything would match.

Here's someone that painted his rotors as you're suggesting. From the pic's it looks like he the job turned out well.

I've been reading that site for a while and those guys aren't hacks...they're affectionados alot like the good group here.

I have no experience on the rotors you posted, but if it were me, I'd go with the best rotors for your vehicle first and paint them for looks.
