Default lexus rx300 leather

I have a 2003 lexus rx300 2wd

my leather is having blue streaks on the side of the leather
near power seat buttons
took it to the lexus dealer and said there no way to take it off
He said it was from blue jeans and said not to wear blue jeans with ivory leather

my Question is how to take it off

Try Lexol leather cleaner. I've gotten ink off my ivory seats with it.

Also look in Auto-care and detailing forum. Wealth of information on leather care.

I second this suggestion. It has worked for me. Then follow up with the Lexol leather conditioner.

Default blue streaks on leather

I have this same discoloration from jeans on my light grey leather on the 400h. If you think about it the dye from your jeans is 'loose' so why cant you clean it off. Well of course you can. I use Woolite cleaner for hand washables. It is safe for leather cleaning, just a couple of capfuls in a gallon of warm water. It removes the blue from the jeans every time, as well as cleaning the area. I follow with a clean damp towel just rinsed in water to remove any soap. Let the area dry. Then always condition the leather with a good leather conditioner i like the Mcquires product and alot of people like the Lexol products as mentioned here.

The important part is to do the cleaning first then the conditioning, not just smearing conditioner over the spots. Also i vaccum the seats first because there is sand and other material that can scratch the leather as you clean, you dont want that. It is amazing to me that a dealer would not have this answer.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, no recommendation at all from that legendary Lexus service? hrm... But yes there is a plentiful of quality leather care and conditioners, blue streaks should come off easily. good luck.

Anytime you get a response like "They ALL do that.", or "That's normal." to an obvious problem, take it as a warning that the dealer doesn't consider your question worthy of a real response. Usually it's because the person you're asking DOESN'T KNOW the answer. Try the service department at another dealership. This kind of attitude does not auger well for your continued relationship.

If you continue to experience the problem of your jeans fading on your light-colored leather, try cleaning the seats as others have suggested and treating them with a good leather conditioner to keep future stains from penetrating. Also, try washing the jeans in warm water with cup of (cheap) white vinegar (no soap or fabric softener) to "set" the color. Rewash with soap as normal to remove the vague scent of green salad from your jeans. (The foregoing advice from my lovely wife, who is in charge of fabric, ceramic, and animate maintenance in our house - I am restricted to wood, metal, fiberglass and leafy objects).

Wash your jeans in a strong saline solution. This will set the colors and you won't get that color transfer any longer..

We don't have Lexol down here (I know its good), but I used some Turtle Wax Leather Cleaner and it worked to get off some blue stains I had on my seats, even though I would not touch Turtle Wax Car Wax.

LOL If you want to make some fast money buy some cheap jeans, tie the cuffs closed and fill them with gravel. Secure the top with a rope and drag them behind your car for a day. Then ebay them for a couple hundred bucks.
