My '01 RX300 w/Nav came with HID low-beam lights.
The only mod I've done so far is the conversion of
fog lights to HID as well.

Top of my mod wish list are:

Hooking up video to Nav screen

Stiffer suspension to eliminate nose dive / tail squat

Finding window tint that matches factory rear windows

Upgrade speakers to Dynaudio(no dealer within 300 miles)

Nice-looking chrome exhaust tip

Replacing power antenna to fixed antenna

That's what I like to do on my fog light too--HID conversion. I also have HID low beams, but just using the 9005 mod GE SuperBlues for the fogs.
Sleepybobcat, how is the light output on the HID fogs, do you have any clearance problem mounting the HID bulbs? Any pics you can share with us?

RX300,

The HID works great in the foglight. The beam pattern
on the road is very even and bright.(almost TOO bright)

I had to shave off a tiny bit of the plastic connector that
connects to the xenon bulb, but otherwise it was
pretty straight forward.

The hard part for me was figuring out how to take the
headlight assembly off. I've never worked on a RX300,
or any Japanese car for that matter(I used to be a
German car nut)... Anyway, I removed the entire front
bumper cover to gain access to it. were you able to
replace the foglight with GE bulbs easily?(like from under
the fender...

Oh, before I forget, I'm still thinking about de-linkikng
the foglight from high beam flashing. It is very annoying
when the foglight is switched off while I flash the high
beam.(not good for the HID ballasts either)

Sorry, but I didn't take pictures of the installation, but
I'll take a picture tonight of the beam patter on the
ground and see how it turns out.

In chronological order:

Tint (close but not exact) ... had it done
Lexus trailer hitch
Jaos Center Guard
Jaos Front Skid Plate.
Jaos Challenger Offroad Lights.

[Jaos stuff turns heads and thumbs go up]

Default Just an opinion

Just my opinion, but I would buy the JAOS stuff if it wasn't for their name plastered all over everything. Just too gawdy for my taste on a refined SUV. I don't want my $40K SUV looking like the Jeep Wrangler down the block.

If I could buy the center guard without their name on it I'd do it in a heartbeat. I'll probably settle on the Rod Millen A-bar because of this.

Some of the JAOS stuff is pure add (mud guard, luggage carrier etc)

The center guard has JAOS cut into the Chrome plated stainless steel and is visible when you are up close and dead in front. (Kneeling down)

From a normal viewing angle and distance it is not visible at all. The polished Chrome and the design (simple and not obtrusive) makes it among the best choice (IMO).

Only negative factor is the cost.

Lightbulb

Sleepybobcat, I did the fog light from the top, did not take anything major apart exept the windsheld fluid extension, not easy, but I did it.
Here is some pics of my mods on the lights + beam pattern, hope to see yours soon.
Basically I like to know if is worth it to go for HID fog.

I'd like to convert my headlights (low beam) and foglights to HID. The only reason I didn't like the HID on the RX was b/c it looked a bit odd with the fog lights on, but if I can change those too it would look great! How did you convert your fogs (what brand, bulbs did you use)? Also, how could I convert my low beams - just buy the set from Lexus dealer? Also, if you don't mind, an estimate of price on the fog light conversion. Thanks

and rx300, great pics - lights look awesome!

salimshah.

My 0.02, find a tool, or go to a place that can service the RX correctly when adding a trailer hitch.

You can buy the parts cheap, but the driver's left read quarter panel is next to impossible to remove with the 12-VDC accessory outlet there.
