I have recently noticed that the brakes on my Rx300 need to be pushed hard in order to stop. I got them checked out at my local auto shop and he said that they are fine. Has any one else noticed this problem and has anyone had their brakes or brake pads replaced. At what mileage were they replaced and what brand did you use to replace them with. My RX300 has 50,000 miles on it. Thanks in advance.

If the auto shop said your pads are in good shape, you may need to change the brake fluid and get the system re-bled to get the feel you want.
Well, if you are not hearing any screaching, you may still be ok.
I get this from time to time, even with new pads, after rain, or when going down a hill.
Speaking of fluids, the DOT3 Toyota fluid is perfectly fine for normal driving conditions, but down where I live, I have used both a Valvoline Powersyn and Castrol LMF, both with good success.
In fact, Toyota Mexico, will use Castrol LMF if requested by the customer.
Higher boiling points, but not as soft as Toyota DOT 3 with the pedal.
