Default Programming Keyless Remote 2001 RX300

I recently bought an uncut key off ebay and had it cut for my RX300. I was able to program the ignition, but have not been able to get the keyless remote buttons to work. Does anyone have these instructions??

Thanks so much.

I just bought one, too and had it cut at a local locksmith for $20. Here's the instructions that I used:

Remote Programming Instructions

1. Driver's door OPEN and unlocked, all other doors closed and locked.
2. Insert your new key in ignition, DO NOT TURN, remove key.
3. Using the MANUAL lock/unlock button ON THE DRIVERS DOOR, slowly
press
lock and unlock 5 times (count the lock 5 times and unlock 5 times).
4. Shut door.
5. Open door.
6. Using the lock/unlock button ON THE DRIVERS DOOR, slowly press lock
and unlock 5 times (count the lock 5 times and unlock 5 times).
7. With the door open insert your key into the ignition, turn to on
position (DON'T START), wait 5 seconds. Turn off and remove key.
8. Locks should cycle once (Car will lock and then unlock once). If
they
don't cycle or they cycle more than once, do steps 1-7 over.
9. Now using the remote, push lock button, hold for one second,
release.
The locks should cycle once. If not, start over and go slower.
10. Close the door. Open the door. Press the lock button on the remote.
The locks should cycle. Close the door. Press the lock button on the
remote, the doors should lock. Press again and the doors should
unlock.

Thanks for the quick response.....I tried your method and was able to get the locks to cycly in step 8, but step 9 did not work for me. If I press lock twice, then they cycle again and once I close the door and reopen, the buttons do nothing. Could there be different directions for a 2001 vs. 2000?

The instructions I have say to press lock and unlock a bunch of times at step 9 until you hear a long beep. Doing this cycled the locks a bunch, but I never got the beep and the key never programmed.

Any other suggestions out there???

Okay...I think I sent you the wrong instructions. This will DEFINATELY work...(sorry - I sent you the ones for LS 400 the first time). These get a little confusing around Step 4, but read carefully and this'll work for you.

1) To begin programming, remove key from ignition switch.
Ensure driver’s door is open and unlocked, and all other doors are
closed. Insert key into ignition switch, and then remove it. Go to
next step.
2) Complete the following in 40 seconds or less: press door
lock switch to LOCK position, and then within one second, press door
lock switch to UNLOCK position. Repeat procedure continuously until
door locks have been locked and unlocked 5 times. Close, and then open
driver’s door. Go to next step.
3) Complete the following in 40 seconds or less: repeat
procedure in step 2), except~ for closing and opening driver’s door.
Insert key into ignition switch. To enter desired mode, turn ignition
switch to ON position and back to LOCK position (one cycle), within
one second, the specified number of times. See REGISTRATION MODE
SELECTION table. Remove key from ignition switch. Go to next step.

REGISTRATION MODE SELECTION

Registration Mode No. Of Ignition Switch Cycles
---------------------------------------
Add 1
Rewrite 2
Confirmation 3
Prohibition 5
---------------------------------------

4) If any mode other than confirmation mode •is selected, go
to next step. If confirmation mode was selected, door locks will cycle
0-4 times depending on how many transmitter codes are stored in ECU.
Example: two stored codes equals 2 door lock/unlock cycles.
Registration of confirmation code is complete after door locks cycle.
5) Complete the following in 40 seconds or less: Press
transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for at least 1.5
seconds, and then within 3 seconds, press any transmitter button for
at least one second. Go to next step.
6) If within 3 seconds, door locks’ cycle one time, new
transmitter code has been successfully accepted. Go to next step. If
door locks cycle 2 times, new transmitter code was not accepted. To
program an additional transmitter or to make a second attempt, return
to step 5) within 40 seconds.

Just replaced my 2 front door actuator motors and now my remote functions don't work. Car starts and runs fine, just remote functions.
Tried programming confirmation codes and my lock cycles 5 times?
No other programming registration modes seem to do anything.
Thanks

Default Door Actuator Keyless Remote Troubelshooting

Hi Salimshah,

I had replaced my front passenger door lock actuator with an aftermarket one off amazon. After replacing the keyless remote option stopped working.

What does work:
- Inside door lock buttons on both front doors
- Driver key cylinder (locking all doors, unlocking all doors, winding down windows, winding up windows)

I tried the programming procedure you have posted and I am getting confirmation the program is successful (I even hear the beep at the end of the programming procedure) however after ending the programming mode the remotes do not do anything. These are the original remote keys not aftermarket.

Is there any other troubleshooting method you would recommend?

Thanks,

Kevin

Default Replaced both front actuators

I did the same. I had to replace both front actualtors because the door sensors were both malfunctioning. Both actuators were after market from eBay. I also bought and cut new keys and tried to program them with the instructions in this string with no luck. Any ideas of what I’m doing wrong?
