pulleys, tensioners usually are a grinding high pitched metal to metal noise.

a guy on Utube took a 1 gal. bleach bottle. cut the bottom off and taped a long screwdriver down the nozzle and he tried it on all his pulleys and dammn if that thing act like a megaphone, it was loud.
