The world is changing rapidly. Your previous seller may get a counterfeit part through his/her supplier.
I save money by DIY but pay the differential gladly by purchasing through on line Lexus/Toyota dealers. To me it is not worth installing a part that I don't trust.
He doesn't mention it in his video but the ceramic on the fake plugs looks quite different, rougher and lower quality. BTW when some say, I didn't get fake parts there is a chance you did and don't know it.
You've decided the fuel pump is bad without any testing that's potentially setting yourself up for failure. But if you're convinced then fire the parts canon you might get lucky.
Its running amazing. Has more power at just about all speeds. This retainer was split on the old pump also. Its fixed!
This happened to me, car (1989 Camry) would take forever to start when the engine was warm someone had replaced the fuel pump with aftermarket junk. Original fuel pump for your car is $300+.

Its extremely easy to replace so ill put 3 $100.00 denso pumps in before the Delphi $300.00.
I have had good luck with denso parts in the past. I dont drive much either. It will probably be the last pump it needs anyway.
Glad it worked out. I've had good luck with Denso products. I replaced the pump on our M35x a few months back and it only took about 20 minutes or so. OEM is Hitachi on it, which was only $232 from RockAuto. Never changed one on an RX, but if it is super easy, then it can make sense to use aftermarket. Thanks for the update too!
