Rubber products always have two opposing factors during manufacture, softness and life.

Sun cuts down the life as well as dirt grime the wipers try to wipe off.

A year is great. My OEM inserts also last about a year, while aftermarket lasted about 3-4 months (Bosch, Car&Driver, Michelin, Pylon, etc.)

You can buy cheap Pylon inserts at Walmart. About $2.69 for two. Just be forewarned that they suck. Been there, done that, back to OEM.

Yes car is outside 24/7. Sounds like I'll just eat the cost and continue with OEM (from Iron Toad of course). I usually pay close to $20 at Lexus Kearny Mesa.

My experience with Lexus dealers says it is virtually IMPOSSIBLE to have them fix anything right. And, the few times they do fix something right, you bring the car home only to discover an unrelated problem which you didn't have when you took the car in and Lexus swears they didn't do it...just a magical coincidence.

Funny, I just had the dealer do my air mix servo under warranty. Now the glove box is screwed up and squeaks and closes like crap. I will just have to take it apart and put it back together and I guarantee it will work better.

I had to do the same with my LS400. Dealer replaced blower motor under warranty and when I got home the glove box would not close. I could write a book on all the stuff Lexus has done to my cars and I only have had my cars back there when they needed warranty work. But, the free coffee and long stem rose made everything worthwhile.

Installed new Rain-X weatherbeater blades on both RX's a couple of months ago. 3 minutes to change all 4 front blades. As mentioned, driver and passenger side are different lengths. No need for OEM blades when quality blades can be bought and installed for much less in just a few minutes. At $8 per blade, they are a no brainer.
