Default hazy headlight covers

I have a 2000 RX with 55K. The plastic lens over my headlights appears to be hazy and I guess scratched from normal wear and tear. I did a search of CL and really did not find a lot. A couple of suggestions I found were to use Zaino polish to clean them. I went to their website www.zainostore.com and am not sure which product to use. I think the posts I was reading from my search said to use the regular car polish, but I see that they have a plastic polish also. Which one works the best.

Another question....if the polishing does not work, are these covers expensive to purchase? Is the dealership the only place to get them? Thanks in advance for your help.

I good quality plastic polish will work great. So will a car polish. I've used Novus in the past to clean up a set of headlights on a 94 Mustang GT convertible I had some time ago. Worked wonders for me.

I have used "Zaino's plastic cleaner and polish" and it works for me - removes most of that haziness. I wish there was a way to clean the inside a bit.

try meguiar's PlastX. Very little elbow grease and your lens will look new.

My 2000 RX300 had somekind of film/buildup on the headlights that wouldn't come off with normal car washings.

I used some Meguiar's Clear Plastic Cleaner that I'd bought for the rear window of my S2000 & it worked like a charm.

And if none of these work........... yes, the headlight units are VERY expensive!!!
