Code PO174
Check Engine light, VSC light & Trac Off light all came on at the same time. I was on the expressway going 60 - 70 MPH when I noticed them but they might have come on prior to getting to the highway. My scanner is showing a code PO174 "SYSTEM TOO LEAN, BANK 2" but it seems odd to me that the other lights (VSC and Trac Off) came on at the same time.
Is there something that would affect all three lights that I should look at before taking in to my mechanic?
Is it OK to drive the car for a few days before the mechanic can fit me in?
Thanks.
Brian
Speculation is that you can not rely on ABS and track as the ECU is not actively monitoring them. Personally I never drive in a fashion for the nanny functions to be activated, so I cant confirm if they are disabled or not.
You can drive for a while, but keep in mind the ECU is trying within limits to pump more gas to compensate for the observed indicator of lean.
If you plan to visit a mechanic to fix then let us know. Search can give you pointers on how to DIY. Some of these emission problems are not easy to fix as the system runs in closed loop.
