Default Going to the track tonight for some lapping... (POST PICTURES ADDED)

And I need some tips on car prep before I go and dominate my poor little IS250 (which is going to rick-rolled by most of the other cars there ).

Should I adjust my coilover damping? Should I mask anything off with tape like the headlights or the lips of my rims? Should I change the oil before going out? Should take anything out/off of the car like the engine covers?

This is my first time going out, so I'm about as green as it gets when it comes to this. Tips/help appreciated!

I asssume since you said lapping that it'll be a road course. What I would do is :

*Lower psi in tires to maybe 30 psi and test psi after a session.
*Make sure your rotors/pads are up to the task.
*If you are nearing the end of your oil's service life, change it.
*Check level of brake fluid, and ALL fluids really.
*Double check torque on lug nuts.
*Tape up anything and everything you want, minus rims.
*Bring helmet!

GL!

tape up your whole front, take out spare tire, lower psi, set dampers to pretty stiff, and take out engine covers (tiny bit more air flow)

Lowering your PSI to 30 is overkill, it would be okay if you were drag racing, keep your PSI at 35 to start and after every session check and make sure it doesn't exceed 40 PSI, if they're all at 40 when fully hot then they're doing good. You don't want your sidewall to flex over because of too low PSI.

Set the car to ECT PWR and not in sport mode if you're not comfortable with downshifting. Keeping it off of sport mode and in D with ECT PWR on will make the car downshift hard as you slow down putting you in an overtaking gear.

Other than that have a good race

Aside from what Gville said,Mask it up, lube it up and make sure you monitor anything while driving. Your car will take a beating if you run it hard, so make sure the after replenish is done.

Thanks for the tips guys. I have the 6speed manual, so there were no ECT options for me, other than the pedal dance. VDIM ruins the party and sliding is super fun. Slower than keeping it straight, but it's 250, speed isn't an options. So it's all fun for me.

Put my pressure down to 32, and keep my eyes on it, I also did a good cool down lap after each session to let the brakes cool off, I also masked my rear lip for the rock and dirt that the rear tires spinning would pick up. I also changed my oil, did a few clicks on it, then cleaned my oil filter off too.

Track was fun, but take it from me, the 250 is slow. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Nice glad you took your nice IS & beat it up
Yea tire pressure you just have to keep an eye on & yes sways will help settle the car more.

I have taken my IS350 to the track 6 times, From basic stock to with coils & hoosier R6 tires. As for your IS250 slow comment no need to stress the IS350 is also slow when you put on a set of sticky tires like hoosiers, It def fun & thats what most need to understand it's just for fun. Yes I said it the 350 is slow on the track compared to other cars like a tracked out civic or even a S2000 that passed me like i was standing still around a turn on the outside. Thats what I am gonna build next S2000 for the track. That dude kept right up with my friend in his Z06.
Kinda funny story I would exit this turn at Chuckwalla with my foot to the floor getting a whopping 7mpg sitting in the seat rocking forward & back going come on baby lets go, Like you'd use to do in a backyard go-cart. Ahh I love my IS...
