This is annoying for me too. But, I realized that when you put the car in gear, the idle actually drops to 600. Notice that you don't have to 2-foot the brake pedal to keep it from rolling. Also, if it idled that high in gear, it would take off, shift into second without pushing the gas pedal. It doesn't do that. It rolls slow in gear when its cold. But, shift it into neutral or park, and the idle goes way back up again. Once I figured that out, it made it less annoying for me.

 

Hmmm. Didn’t notice that. Oh well, the problem is solved now.
