Appreciate most of you guys are US / Canada based. So early 2018, 20k miles. Its at an UK Audi main dealer, the car is currently in a specialist wheel shop to sort out the diamond cut alloys which you can see are kerbed.Looking to trade in my 2018 BMW 340i....

Cost to change £11500 or $14k...I'm not sure I could ever get a closer trade in for two cars of the same age that are leagues apart.

Its overdue its 2 year service and I've discounted them by saying I'll get it serviced at my local Lexus dealer.

Any thoughts ? Last time I came close to a buy in Northern Ireland I had some helpful advice. Yet again due to distance I can't view so have said a deposit / the deal will be forthcoming but dependent on viewing after the five hour drive. (which for you guys is probably next door )

Yeah, I remember your last thread a few months ago. Looks like it is in good shape. 2018 model year with 20K miles. I did notice the tire pressures are very low, but it is a minor thing. If the car's records check out and no accident history then it seems like a good car to purchase. Make sure you check how much tire tread is left and how much is left on the brake pads.

Cheers. Thanks for pointing out the tyre pressures, I know its a minor thing as you say but just like the damaged alloys I'm a little surprised they advertised it like that. My personal view is that the price (and the part ex) is probably reflected in the fact they just want to move on quickly (not being an Audi).

I've asked for a full breakdown of tyre tread and pad wear. My guess is the brake discs (rotors )should be fine at those miles, ordinarily I'd run my finger over to check if they were lipped.

What option packages does it have? Check what comes with also. Though, I remember you saying, UK has very limited availability of the RCF so from that stand point, this looks a lot better than the last one you asked about.

The add simply says the below which isn't helpful. I guess the issue is its an Audi dealer advertising a car they have little knowledge of
  • Adaptive cruise control + pre-crash system
  • Reversing camera
  • Auto dimming interior mirror + dimming door mirrors
  • Mark Levinson 17 speaker audio system
I have the VIN so will enquire further with my local dealer tomorrow. Currently only four used RCF's for sale in the whole of the UK . I might have to make the odd compromise I guess.

Yeah, you should get full details, but I think it has the premium package on it.

Just an update. I've managed to find out its first service was at a VW Independent .......Why the hell would you take a 12 month old £60K car to an German Independent when a Lexus main dealer is literally 20 minutes up the road. That said I rang the garage. They seem like decent people who know their stuff, said it was serviced with a genuine Lexus pack and will supply all the paperwork. They also vouched for the previous owner who they know well (female) and has a history of nice new cars that they service for her. So I doubt its been tracked or ragged.

My main concern is that stamp in the book for future resale and its impact when moving it on and future value . I rang two Lexus dealers. One said no issue with the current warranty as long as genuine Lexus parts were used but the other said Lexus would more than likely query it if it was some kind of engine issue and would I take the chance ?

On a positive note the High pressure fuel pump recall has been done and they are replacing front pads and discs...Tyres have 4mm all round

I've also been looking at a 15 plate RCF on 44k. Not main dealer but when pressed for service history they suddenly went all quiet. Finding something totally up together is proving a bit of a nightmare.

The pressure is actually displayed in bar, not psi, in that picture. 2.5 bar is the same as 36 psi, so the tire pressure is perfect.

My best guess, like they sort of mentioned, it's just a long time customer / good friends, and she was simply giving business to them. With such a new vehicle, depending on how long you plan on keeping it and if you switch to having it serviced at Lexus, I don't think anyone's going to mind if they see consistent Lexus service for years after.

Yep she's a long term customer who they know quite well. I'm thinking the same, a few Lexus stamps should smooth it out. The original price was quite good and below book, the part ex they offered was excellent and they've reduced the cost to change by £1500 if I get it serviced rather than Audi do it (it was due its two year but Covid put it on hold). Basically means depreciation on my 340i has been minimal and I get into an RCF a little over two years old. No finance involved just need to fund the next service which is around about £600, the car will be back in the Lexus fold with new front pads / discs.

By the sounds of what you are saying, it seems like a good deal.

It looks like a good deal to me! It looks to have the premium package and ML package. Looks to be in very good condition with low miles.
If you have the VIN, you can do a lookup at https://drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/ and see exactly what options it came with from the factory.
Check the oil level with the dip stick. It is not uncommon for the oil to be filled a quart over by dealers. It's not a big deal if it wasn't tracked that way, but something I verify after every service.
I have never had Lexus service question any warranty work needed, even though I did my own basic service on my IS350. That's one of the reasons I went with Lexus again with the RCF.
