Hey all, just wanted to share my dyno numbers from today before i install my invidia exhaust, mij intake and drop in filter. Then i’ll be returning back to the same place to dyno again. Its my first time modding and having a car on a dyno so im pretty excited. He said the numbers were SAE corrected. We did the pull in 5th gear. Lasty, he has experience tuning toyota products, so we currently are deciding on if we should do a custom dyno tune using the software from orange virus. If that happens i’ll add that into the thread later on. Dynapack dyno was used at Xact dyno in Tempe, Arizona.
409 whp SAE corrected for bone stock RCF is one of the highest stock numbers I have seen. Usually they are around 390 whp to 400 whp stock. However, good for you as those are very solid numbers. I have an Invidia exhaust as well so I would really be interested in seeing how those numbers change with the Invidia full catback exhaust install. I will be watching this thread closely.

I agree, i thought those numbers were high as well from looking at other threads. In the first picture i saw the “SAE(adapted)” under the rpms in the bottom right corner and asked him about it. Thats when he told me they were corrected. Im interested to see the numbers after the exhaust too. Will try to get that done in the next couple of weeks since its a 2 hour drive from me and the parts haven’t shipped yet.

The reason why it looks high is because he’s dyno’ing on a dynapack which removes the wheels and dynos at the hub. This makes for more consistent repeatable readings but you don’t get the parasitic loss of the wheel and tires.

I believe the Dynapak dyno is done with your wheels off. They attach the machine to the wheel hubs. Testing without the mass of the wheels could explain a higher hp output.

The peak horsepower officially comes at 7100 rpm. While driving it, one can feel it continues building the power until the cut off under 7500 rpm. This dyno graph has a rare occurrence where it peaks at 6100 rpm. There might be variables there especially airflow etc. that might have caused it, but in all of the other cases it keeps building power till redline/cut off. Even if it was, still one would shift around redline as the power is flat to redline. It also ensures in the next gear rpm falls in the meat of the powerband, which is above 5800 rpm.

Just got the exhaust delivered. Will put it on this friday. Im Excited to hear how it sounds. Might just drive around all day. Probably will get the dyno done next week saturday.
In regards to my dyno run, do you guys think the spark plugs would have an effect on why my power drops off before 7100? Im at around 53k miles and haven't done the spark plug change yet.
Not too sure why it peaked at 6100 rpm rather than 7100 rpm. The numbers seem fine. I guess, at this point the delta is more important once you get the exhaust on to see how much did it change by. It is a good idea to do spark plugs at this high mileage, though.
I don't believe spark plug replacement is recommended maintenance until 60k miles or 72mos, and if I recall correctly the few people that have done this service and reported back on here have had relatively intact, non-fouled plugs suggesting the car could go even longer between changes. That all said, doing it at 50k miles won't hurt either. I do not know why your peak HP was at 6100-6200 either, but I don't think it is because of fouled plugs.
Not only did you hit a higher than expected number but you hit it earlier in your power band. One dyno result compared to a different car on a different dyno and day means virtually nothing of course. As long as you go back to the same dyno after your exhaust is on, at least you can get a more accurate sense of how much power it added.
Since you're trying to measure gains from mods, I would leave the engine alone until after your next dyno. Tune up never hurts, but if you showed a big jump in power, we would never really know if it was the mod or a simple tune up. Change plugs out afterward if you want to.

I went with the afe magnum flow dry filter. I’ll share the dyno graph as soon as i get it. Now i’m thinking of doing the dyno this week instead of waiting until next week. I don’t think i can wait that long haha
