Default Car is Stored away :(

Stored my car away for the winter a couple of days ago! Very sad feeling! I'll be driving the GS350 for the winter and back with the beauty come spring time. I hate the gruelling hibernation period that we have to go through here in areas of Canada.

I didn't end up buying a fitted indoor car cover as I didn't have the time to do enough research and pull the trigger on the one I want. so not the prettiest of covers but brand new and does the job. Till next year

Little less than half tank of fuel and I added the appropriate amount of Stabil. Had a fresh oil change, inflated the PSI on the tires and added soft mats underneath each wheel. I plugged it in with a trickle charger and that's all she wrote.

Blue, storage facility or all your cars?

I used to have to put cars away too although not until beginning of Dec.

Solved that by moving south

LOL..I was about to revive my old thread on the very topic as well. Exactly going through the same myself. My car also went into hibernation as of last week. Just have to disconnect the negative terminal.

Storage facility. I paid $949 CAD for 6 months.

Literally the only benefit from doing this is keeping the mileage down and by default not driving it through the brutal winters/salt.... If I were to winter drive it, i'd def rustproof it but this will be strictly a spring/summer/fall toy.

I like your solution though!

Very very sad. Love the feeling in the spring though when it's time to take it out! feels like a new car every time and I like to gather some new bits to install on her during the winter months.

Yeah, exactly the same. Longevity is very important. I much rather only drive it when I can enjoy it. In the winter, with rock chips and salt etc., the paint and clear coat take a severe beating.`I have enjoyed a lot more this year because of the full exhaust. Definitely, now excited about putting more aggressive Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (XL) on next year and other basic mods etc.

That sucks. I have week of perfect driving weather here and I hope to get a drive in tomorrow or this weekend. California may be circling the drain in some respects, but you cant beat the weather.

I assume you do not have room to just cover it at home?

I have two other cars and this was the best solution in my situation. I live in a condo and have secure underground parking but I have only two parking spots. Regardless, it wouldn’t have had a plug in outlet for my trickle charger. Will be moving into a single home with a double garage and in that case I’ll have plenty of room as the other cars can be outside.

I also own a condo and have two underground parking stalls and one outdoor parking stall. The RCF sleeps in the indoor heated garage. The Corolla XRS and the Lexus RX take turns in the other underground and outdoor stalls as they get used almost every day.

Covercraft indoor car cover, fitted. Felt/fleece type under side to prevent scratching. Very thick heavy material. I’ve had mine for over 2yrs and love it! Cost was under $300....

Beautiful cover! That’s essentially what I’m looking for. Will inquire with them as well as weathertech. Thanks!

Pics really don’t do it justice. You would be surprised how thick or heavy this cover is. And so easy to put on and remove!

While the rest of you are putting your cars away into hibernation for the next few months, we are just starting to get some great weather here in Houston.

It will be sun sine and a crisp 66* tomorrow. Will make for a great turnout at cars and coffee.
