When I bought my 2008 ISF new, I really liked the black brake calipers with the Lexus and their logo on them. Since then RCF brake calipers came standard in black then $300 optional orange calipers in 2016, the 2019 special edition with blue calipers and now with the newly released Track Edition with carbon fiber brakes get red calipers. Do you think Lexus should offer several colors for their calipers? Do you think Lexus should offer the carbon fiber brakes on non-Track Edition RCF’s? What are your thoughts? Optional Orange calipers offered starting with the 2016 model year RCF, a $300 option. 2019 RCF Special Edition blue calipers. Only available on the special edition. 2020 RCF Track Edition Carbon fiber brakes with red calipers.
I guess it would depend on your exterior color. Don’t think orange calipers would look good on just any colors.
As for blue/red for special editions only, IMO, they should keep it that way. If any non-track can do this upgrade, it would ‘degrade’ the actual special edition models.

The orange brake calipers look great with Molten Pearl.
I think they should offer the Ceramic brakes as an option. Porsche offers upgraded brakes on their sports cars as well as other manufacturers.
I think no manufacturer is better at picking your pocket than Porsche. Manual seats are standard. Power seats are an option on a 911. That is strong!!!
Packages are nice but so are options.
I don't think Lexus really understands the performance car market that well. Or they do and they don't really care. Or they just don't build enough to care.
^^^^I disagree. Porsche can and doers nit pick you to death with expenive options Japanese brands OTH make most desirable options standard, therefore a better buy for the consumer because there is economy of scale and the vehicle build is both easier to manufacturer and easier to plan for production.
Though my 2017 came w Orange, I do like the "Off" Orange colors on the 2020 better. I'm thinking my Winter Project will be doing them over in either Red or the same USB. People seem to offer different ideas on whether to Powdercoat them, Paint or Wrap. Either way, I'm starting to lose interest in my Orange ones.
I have been trying to find the paint code for the factory orange calipers for quite some time with no luck. I was going to have my black calipers painted to match my Molten Pearl but after looking closer, the OEM orange calipers are in fact a slightly different shade of orange than Molten Pearl.
I also haven't had any luck finding the OEM F logo decals for the calipers. Only cheap ebay knock offs which I don't think I would be pleased with.
So I have since held off on painting the calipers due to the fact that I'm not 100% certain the OEM look can be replicated close enough to not drive my OCD crazy.
That being said, if anyone has factory orange calipers they want to trade for my black calipers, I'll be more than happy to trade you and pay for the labor to have them swapped over.

Yes, I remember this thread but still did not have a definitive answer. Can anyone confirm the LFA Nürburgring orange (paint code 9K5) is the same as the OEM Orange calipers on the 16+ RCF's? It does seem the Nurburgring orange is just a tad more yellow. Maybe it's just the photo or lighting.

I agree. The Lexus package system does give you way more for less.
Yet, If I were to build a dream RCF it would have the lightweight carbon roof, No TVD, The light Carbon Brakes and Track edition wheels. The rest of the car would have all the luxury options and no big rear spoiler. I want the trick stuff, but I am just old enough to not want a giant wing on my car.
LMAO!! I despise seeing any Wing on the back of a car, let alone my own! If I took the 90k offer on the Track Edition, that would be the very first thing I'd have removed.
