Default Apple Carplay update files for 2018-2019 RC models

Here is the link to the update files. Special thanks to Djoyce101 from toyotanation.com for hosting the files.

Please download the LSB files (the ones that end with .pdf) and read it because it contains the instructions on how to check your model and how to install. As a reminder, if you don't know what you are doing, don't do it. You can potentially brick your display unit though can recovery if you do the recovery method correctly. I don't know much about enform 2.0 so i can't help you identify what display unit model your car has but the LSB will guide you with that. I am hoping you all will help each other.

Nope, the LSB says 2018-2019 only.

Now if only someone “in the know” could tell us which piece of hardware needs to be retrofitted in the 2015-2017’s to make this work.

Performed the update last night in my '19. It worked fine. It took over an hour, and there were countless system reboots, including a very scary one after the process was finished when the screen went blank for about a minute that seemed like days. When everything was done, I had CarPlay. I don't have a picture of the CarPlay screen yet, it was late and I went to bed.

As long as you follow the instructions in the TSB carefully, everything should go smoothly.

Awesome! Way to take the leap and do it. Share some carplay pics!

Carplay works so well in my Honda, I would do quite a bit to have this in the F.

Look on Toyota nation for Lexus/Toyota AppleCar play update files.

I did this to my wife's 18' NX back over a year or so ago. Super easy to do. As mentioned above just make sure your hardware is exactly as stated in the how to. Format the usb drive per the directions then install. Should take an hour or so. MAKE sure your car is on and started! I made the mistake of thinking just turning it "on" but not running and the car eventually shut off after 20 minutes or something like that. Luckily nothing got bricked. Then I just started it again.

Apple car play made a huge difference for her in the car. I wish there was a damn android auto update for 2020's.. Sucks that 2021 they have android auto as standard but not the year before.

Thanks Nigel! I found it and did the update this morning without any problems.

Here's the link if anyone else stumbles across the thread and wants to perform the update:
