Default GPS tracking for anti-theft

I just got a 2002 ES300 and its a beautiful car with all the options and I cant imagine it being stolen so I want to install something that will get my car back to me in case something happens. GPS tracking looks like the way to go.

Lojack costs $600 or something. I found another called RMT tracking: http://www.rmtracking.com/gpsproduct...rt_tracker.php
$200 + $100 installation and then $20/year

Is there anything cheaper and still reliable?

A Zoombak unit is what I use, costs $149.99 for the unit with the install kit and $14.99/month for the service. Zoombak offers continuous tracking and unlimited locates online and with their iPhone app. It also allows you to view where the vehicle has been for the previous 7 days to help aid in theft recovery or for tracking purposes.

Has worked great for me. It helped me figure out where my car is parked in downtown St. Louis on a couple occasions.

I am using zoombak on a 30 day trial basis. It works great, but it is expensive. I am also considering the Ituran driveit, and the Escort Entourage in terms of an installed solution foing forward.

You can also look at Escort Entourage PS or CIS. A little more expensive than zoombak but has a lot of extra options and can track every 10 seconds instead of every 5 minutes. You can google it or check it out on my site @ www.touchofartinhawaii.com/gps.asp

The Escort Entourage is better than Zoombak. Both have a $15 monthly service fee. Zoombak has cheaper units priced at $120 on Amazon for one that can be permanently installed to your car. The Escort CIS will cost $399 for the hardware.

Both can be self-installed. Professional install is $100 usually.
