Does the entire rear bumper have to be removed to remove/replace the rear diffuser?

Not sure if these guys removed the entire rear bumper for necessity or convenience.

Yes. You need to. To access the connectors/clips the hold diffuser

 

Don't see why you would need to remove the entire rear just to add that lower diffuser. I have the Tom's carbon fiber diffuser and I never removed my entire bumper. The only piece that was swapped out was the black piece of the OEM bumper.
