Replacement Battery Suggestions

I had a red top on a Celica that sat for months at a time and it was dead every time I tried to start it. The battery finally went bad. So I agree.

Has anyone had success in finding a direct replacement that isn't supplied by Lexus? So I'm talking about a group size H6R AGM battery.
Interstate Batteries has an H6R, but it's not an AGM battery, don't know if that really makes much difference.
Group size 34 batteries are slightly larger than H6, wondering if that is gonna work in the battery box, especially height because the hold down doesn't seem to have any lee way over the current 7.5 inches.

I have been running Optima batteries for, I am guessing, 20 plus years. I had one in a Jeep that lasted 12 years. For me they have been the best batteries I have ever used. I always buy directly from Optima and have them shipped to me.
The only Optima that did not work for me was in a Celica that sat for months at a time between starts. That one went bad after a couple of years. IMHO not the batteries fault.

Just in case anyone is interested, I ended up replacing the OEM Panasonic battery with a Duralast group 34 AGM battery . Dimensions are close but not perfect fit. I was able to reuse everything in the current battery box, including the bracket with the cable hold-downs. 740 CCA vs. 595 for the OEM. Weight is similar. About $215. Prices I found for the OEM battery were all north of $350.

Really? Dealership quoted me $195 for OEM which frankly surprised me as I expected no less than $300. Perhaps they misquoted me.

^^^ Could be. The price I quoted was based on shopping online.
I heard a rumor that Lexus won't warranty the battery unless they install it. I don't know how that could be the case but wonder if it is true.

wow, I'm still on the original battery. The car is a 2015. It sits all winter though and has never failed to start. It has given a couple weak starts after sitting and once the entire computer had to reboot after a long sit. This winter has been better and I have been trying to start it up more often.

I had to replace my battery and just purchased a new battery from my Lexus dealership since every auto parts store didn't carry them. Total cost $173 including NY state tax $13.80. Warranty 84 months. Part #: 00544-MFH6R
Optimum battery are a hit or miss these days. The manufacturing of them changed years ago. Good thing for warranty. I replaced mine 3 times in my RX-7.
As for RR Racing sometimes they don't have the best interest for their customers, just look at their supercharger kit. It is way too expensive.

RR racing actually no longer offer the lithium battery, they pulled it off their site immediately after getting persistent feedback on this forum. Other than that all the rest of their product is stellar. I'm a big fan of their suspension and see the value in their supercharger. May be pricey but the engineering is top notch and I wouldn't have it any other way. I wouldn't trust my RCF engine to something subpar just because am trying save a buck, not that we have any choices when it comes to forced induction anyways.

I had the EarthX ETX900 Litium Battery from RR Racing. Daily driver. Lasted about 1.5 years before dying recently. EarthX honored the 2 year warranty and I upgraded to the ETX 1200 (just had to paid a little extra for the 1200). It's been a couple weeks now, so far so good.

I just got a interstate battery from Interstate, all the Luxery dealerships here where I am from replaces them with interstate, and just slaps the Lexus or whatever Brand sticker on them with warrenty. They don’t replace them here with oem Panasonic ones....but that’s in my state , I don’t know what other states do......

I've never seen a Panasonic battery available in the US. I remember trying to find them when I was driving other Toyotas because they seemed to last forever for me, but I was never successful finding a reliable source for them.
