Which EarthX did you get? Those sound really interesting.
Actually the EarthX batteries are not new to the Lexus RCF platform. RR racing has been selling and marketing this product under their brand name. They use the ETX900.
The ETX900 fails miserably for daily use and I got into a lengthy argument with RR racing (you could see elsewhere on this forum) whereby I stated they should market this battery as a "track-only battery."
I would personally go with ETX1200 for daily but am not willing to stick out my head again after getting burnt once.
Braile brand is a more solid battery but obviously at a steeper price.

I have spoken in length with EarthX about their batteries. They do not recommend the ETX900 for our cars. The ETX900 accepts up to 80amp alternator or less, ours is 180amp. They recommend
the ETX1600

Thanks for confirming my suspicion all along. I never did speak with EarthX but through my independent research I questioned RR racing lithium battery which is basically an EarthX ETX900 model.
It's unfortunate RR racing chose to use a marketing ploy that made their product seem more competitive than other offerings, being a far lighter and less expensive model but in essence it's an inadequate battery.
Am not an argumentative individual but I do feel vindicated by this confirmation coming from the actual supplier. RR racing needs to do some soul searching here and do right by it's customer base.
I will concur with Koni.
My RR battery only lasted about a year. It started acting up and not crank the car. Then moved to being totally dead where all
electronics wouldn’t even light up.
I tried charging with a proper lithium pulse charger. No difference.
That pos is now a fancy door stop in my shop...
Put oem one back in. Heavy but reliable.

You fared better than I did, my RCF rejected the battery right from day one. I got all kind of weird messages about abnormal voltage on my dash, power steering would give error warnings or the mark levinson power amp would clip and shut down sporadically.
I thought I was just having bad connections on the terminal until I finally gave up and started my research. Discovered the smoking gun was the battery itself, it's under required specs.
I too have a fancy red $500 door stop that didn't see much use beyond the first month.
Wow. Sorry to hear about the bad experiences. Sounds like the 1600 is the closest to our application even if it isn't the lightest solution. Still a whole lot lighter than a lead acid battery.

Thanks for confirming James!

I would be curious to see how the 1200 performs (overthough) that 1600 is the recommend one.

If it only lasted one year, you can get it warrantied by EarthX with a replacement with no charge.

The ETX900 is the EarthX battery that RR Racing sells for the RCF. I wonder why RR Racing would sell the wrong battery?

It still doesn't change the fact ETX900 is the wrong battery for the RCF. Investigate on EarthX website for yourself and see this is so. I would go as far as to speculate EarthX could potentially void the warranty as it was the wrong application. RR racing should be the one to step up to the plate.
As to why RR racing sells the wrong battery am sure they have their reasons. I believe they made a bad business decision. It wasn't
their engineering minds talking to them but a short sighted business decision. Now the chickens have come home to roost.
I had a question about how and what Optima. I used an Optima Red Top 25 and I ordered this rubber slab and cut to fit. I then put it under the top hold down bracket.
Optimas are great for DD vehicles. I put a red top in my Supra, and had nothing but problems when it transitioned from DD to occasional use. Followed that with a yellow top, same problem.
