Default Get Your RCF ECU Flashed!

For those that haven't read about the fuel pump TSB reflash.....call your dealer and go now! It totally eliminated the transmission hesitation. Car runs like a beast now. Giddy up fellas!

It increases the voltage to the pump and how that fixed the lag issue I'm not sure unless it was starving for fuel. The car idles better and just runs better all around. There's a noticeable improvement in regards to the lag. Took about an hour at the dealer to complete.

Would dealership do a re-flash even if you don't have a fuel pump issue?

It depends on the dealer. My dealer said they will not until they hear the fuel pump noise.

My dealer also said they would not do the update unless they heard "the noise".

anyone have the LSB #?

as I stated in another thread, I doubt the flash did anything to fix the lag other than to reset the adaptive learning systems, same a battery pull would do, but I would like to see the LSB and find out what the flash actually does.

This was posted in the fuel pump noise thread. Forgot who posted.
"The Service Bulletin entitled 'Abnormal Noise from Low Pressure Fuel Pump 'from the QA Powertrain Departmentpublication_Number: 'L-SB-0031-16'.
Vehicle Applicability: ''15-'16 RC F, 16' GS F'.
T3_ID: '16-TMS-0039-L'.update takes about 30-35 minutes. it will increase the idle speed"

I had mine done at 20k service after I showed Lexus a recording of the intermittent sound change that happened after long drivers in cooler weather. see post #390
Could not repro in hot AZ weather at the Lexus dealership. I have not tested making long road trip drives where the engine is running for 5-7 hours.

The change did seem to improve the crappy lag issue at lower rpm ranges while turning.

Tell them "I hear the noise" AND only after an extended long drives, like 8 hours drive up to the north in colder temperatures and just got back into town . If they don't , maybe they need to have their ears checked!!!

Mine didn't have the noise, but the lag was present for sure. I'm a VERY good customer at my dealer and pay cash for my cars....maybe they treat me differently. I called him up and explained the TSB after seeing it posted here on our forum. I told him I didn't have a noise but read where others didn't either but they also noticed the lag was gone and better performance from the vehicle. He basically said since it's a TSB for all 2015 & 2016 RCF's and the GSF they would do it. I don't see how a dealership could refuse to do it for some of you. I'd demand it. For those that say don't fix it unless it's broke......well enjoy your lag. I think most of you who are regulars on here know I'm not a Bs'er..... I'm telling you guys the lag is COMPLETELY gone. I've given you the info, do with it what you please.

So I w t back and read the last few pages of the "Fuel Pump " thread, and starting on page 26 there's at least half a dozen forum members all agreeing the update has fixed the lag issue on the RCF. I knew I wasn't crazy
