My lexus dealer told me that there is no remote starter currently available from lexus, for the RCF - in Canada...

Anyone know if there is truth to this....?
Why would we get shafted on a remote starter... when we need it in the cold up here!?

 

My wife RC350 sport has a remote start my RCF does not ! but they told me if you go with cabron fiper option i will get the remot start , im not from Canada but what im trying to say sometims its a selling point when they try to add extra options of remove them , did you try hoding the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons togather and see if the car will start or no ?

 

The sequence is to press lock 3 times, holding it on the 3rd time until the parking lights begin to flash.

 

You can also start it thru the 'remote start' ap from Lexus Enform... but it's only free for a year, and not that easy/quick to use. What I hate about that is the engine shuts off. WTF? Does that happen with the remote control sequence as well? I'll probably never use that feature anyway, but good to know it's there. Maybe if you're arriving by plane somewhere in winter, you can warm it up a little before getting there. But I'm not going to renew that Enform thing just for that.

 

The enform app certainly is not available in Canada.

Unfortunately I won't be getting my RCF for a couple of weeks so I can't try out any of the ideas mentioned above.

Can anyone in Canada confirm or deny that remote start is available on RCF? You'd think they'd be standard in our cold climate!!

It was not an option on my 09, or 12' ISF.

 

Couldn't find info on the fob remote start feature anywhere on the owner's manual, but know my car has it (will never use it though). Maybe they forgot to put it there. Looked at the entire index and nothing. Just try it, and you'll know if your car has it. I'd imagine ALL cars have it, at least in the US, since that feature is not separately listed on any of the optional packages. Good luck.

 

Nope dude, US has a lot of features we dont have..which is really sad

 

Going to answer my own question I asked at the top of the thread now that I took delivery of my RCF:

The remote start DOES NOT work in Canada. We also don't have the enform app so can't get that set up either

you'd think in our climate, they would have enabled it. I'm sure it's probably just a software thing - considering from comments here - in the US, once you enable the enform app, you can get the auto-start to work.

 

Have any of us Canadians asked at the dealer about getting Enform enabled?
