Default Bye-bye RCF

Sadly, I sold my 2022 USB RCF w/ 8800 miles today for a 2023 white GX460 luxury. I loved the car but am losing my daily driver/beater car, don't have the heart to drive such a gorgeous machine in the Northeast winter on 3-season tires, don't have a 3-car garage, and with insurance so pricey, can't afford 4 cars + teen. In case anyone is interested, I have parts/accessories. PM me if interested.

-Modern spare w/ jack kit (see my post)
-Raceseng tow tug
-Raceseng front license plate kit w/ ISF tug shaft (plate sticks out about 2 inches in front of bumper)
-OEM air filter (free if you're local to N. VA)
-Coverking custom cut windshield shade

Totally understandable. Sad to see you go, but good to hear you have a car that is more usable all the year round. Best of luck.

Sad to see this. From your signature I thought you already got a daily driver. But looks like you would need another SUV for family. True these winters and the brine / salt are too damn hard on all cars.. At-least you got another V8 GX 460, the last of the true Land Cruiser chassis truck. All the best. PM'd.

Congrats on the new GX - they're amazing. Sad to hear your RC had to go to make room. Did you sell it or trade it in for the GX?

I could use the Raceseng tow tug (not the license plate thing).

Also highly recommend the corn-fed 1/2in front lift. I have a NG 22 GX and had to do it as I don't like the lean.

Sold it to the dealer (Pohanka Lexus). Mgr there told me they are the largest Lexus dealer in this area, sell avg 500 cars/month. I stroll the car lot while I wait for service, have seen used M3, Ferrari, Aston Martin. Before I bought my USB RCF, I had test driven a used Fuji TE there. Ppl here have money, so they tend to sell the cars in top condition but do tend to charge a bit more than dealerships out of state

I have the 05 LS430 as my DD this year, but my kid is taking it to college in August, and I just don't have the heart to drive it in the winter, esp. on 3-season tires, and wifey says she needs a backup car to drive and if she drives the RCF, she'll surely scratch it (left a long scratch on the front bumper of my LS430 from a stack of deck planks I was seasoning in the garage years ago). Given those options, I'd rather sell it to a good home! I loved the car. The driving experience is just so nice...sound of the exhaust, suspension tuning, precise steering, amazing seats (best I've ever sat in for any car), Mark Levinson sound system. If I had a 3-car garage, I might have tried to keep it. Ironically, the insurance on my new 23 GX is only $109 less per 6 months vs. the RCF (my high premiums are due to having a teenager, not the cars!). I heard one guy at the dealer saying he had a 20 RCF, sold it for a C8, then sold that for a LC500, but of the three, the RCF was his favorite.

Well said. I would do the same, if I were in your position and could not accommodate all of my 3 Lexus cars. I have a 4 car garage so I can park all of my 3 Lexus while the RCF sleeps through the winter. I cannot stand the idea of salt, rock chips and cr*ppy roads during the winter ruining the paint and underbody. My IS350 F-Sport and RX350 F-Sport, both with AWD do a perfect job there. I am OK with driving the RCF during the perfect weather days because it is really about quality than quantity for me.

I'm interested in the Modern Spare. Can you please PM me? I'm new so I don't have the ability to PM anybody yet. Thanks.

Looks great! And plenty of room in your garage! Have you driven it yet? Now you need a license plate frame like I had made…carbon inscribed with “Member… V8 Preservation Society” (seeing that these are a dying breed that once ruled the continent)
