Default Window not automatically lowering & raising when closing door??

Hey

So I've notice this week that when I get out the car, the car is telling me my window is still open.
After a few times of this, I realized that my window isn't lowering when I open the door & closing once it's closed ( our cars do this to relieve the pressure on our frameless windows when being closed).

Has this happened tohto anyone & does anyone know why it's not automatically lowering and opening anymore?

Check on the door, inside and theirs a button that the door pushes and that cause the window to go down. It’s on the inside where the door hook is to the right of it.

I found out why,
When you change battery, sometimes you have to cycle through the window actuator. All the way up and then all the way down. Fixed it and saved me a drive to the dealership

Thanks

Can you explain better?

Sometimes a lexus might have an issue with the window not automatically going up after the battery goes dead or gets replaced. Possibly the ECU gets triggered and it needs resetting.

To reset the problem window you would: Hold down the window switch until it goes all the way down. Once its all the way down, continue to hold it down for another full second after. Then hold the switch up until the window is fully closed. Once its fully up, continue to hold it up for another full second after.

Repeat the process again if it doesn't work after the first time. Some times it doesn't require the repeat.

Better?

Yes thank you! I'll remember this thread in case this happens to me.

ALSO, that "resetting" sequence is often required, on various Lexus cars, for the sunroof and for the back hatch (SUV).

Post Figured it out!

I replaced the battery on my 2017 RC350 and ran into this issue, I tried different research techniques that I read online and went to the dealership, and neither worked because the dealership said that they'd have to charge me just to inspect the car. I decided to refer to the owner manual, which gives you 6 steps on how to reset the window, try this with your window and MAKE SURE that you're following the steps without triggering the auto lower and raise (only follow the resetting steps by raising and lowering the **** halfway which ensures that you are still in control). Did this and it didn't work the first 2-3 times and then it worked! Don't stress out over this issue, it's a problem on all Lexus cars when the battery is replaced because it tends to reset the window actuator and it can be extremely annoying to deal with on coupes. But hope this helped!

This thread is over 3 years old and the issue was previously solved, why revive it?
