Started a little project this weekend. Wheels are being purchased in the next month or so. Front brakes were making crazy noise so it was time to replace. Picked up a set ok akibono pads and decided to paint the calipers.
I washed and degreased them with a wire brush and brilliant, than took some sand paper. 3 coats of primer and 3 of yellow
very happy with the results so far. I just ordered some basic Lexus sticker off eBay to throw in down the road
That looks awesome. I never realised how straightforward it would be to paint them instead of ordering painted ones. Did you say you were going to put a Lexus sticker on them all?

Yes I ordered a Lexus sticker on eBay. Should be here in a day or so. I’ll put some nail polish remover over the sticker when it comes. Taking the caliper off is a breeze a weekend project forsure
I had my calipers powercoated when I switched to Akibono pads (gold calipers; red car). I got a set of very inexpensive red Lexus decals on ebay, and put them on each of the 4 calipers. They look great, and have been on there for a few years. I never have put anything over the top of the decals. Applying them took just a minute, and they look great. This is a highly recommended nice touch for anyone who has colored calipers.
Those inexpensive Lexus Logo decals you can easily find on eBay work very well on painted or powder coated calipers. I put these red ones on my gold powder coated calipers a few years ago, and expected that they might curl up and fall off in a month or two, but they still look great. I did not coat them or paint over them with anything. I probably spent all of five minutes to put on 4 decals.
(Red logo valve stem caps are just the cherry on the sundae.)
Highly recommended.
I did a full prep and used rattle can candy metallic basecoat with SprayMax 2K for the F-sport calipers and the aluminum rotor hats turned out 1000% better than expected. Checkout the DIY on the new video on YouTube.

Thanks for the inspiration fellas. I just painted my calipers while doing my front & rear pads/rotors. Also bought some lexus decals off eBay to put on. I did 3 coats of clear-coat on top of the decals and it gave a nice shine & finish to the calipers. I didn’t think it would be too visible behind the OEM rims with all the spokes, but the colour definitely shines through and looks very nice.
