File a claim for DV no matter what. I did that on a car once, it can't hurt. I got an extra $750 in DV.

The part of the hood was blended as well as the door...but its too obvious when the color doesn't match with the pillar.

I didn't accept the repair and left it for them to figure things out.
This was shot in the shade...I don't want to see what it will look like in the sun.
Am strongly considering filing a claim for DV if it comes back like this again.

Haven't heard anything from them since I left the car.

I know how you feel.....Bought this 2019 Lexus RC350 AWD F sport last Sunday with 2 miles on it. Less than 5 days of having the car and parked at Starbucks....I came out to this.....

update. I was called upon the shop to come by and inspect the unit prior to pickup.

the color still doesn't match but now there's significantly more "blending" on the hood and the door...with horrendous orange peel to top it off.
This is getting quite interesting. I left it at the shop again. I don't know where this is going to end up but it's pretty apparent to me the 3rd of the car looks like it's been repainted....oh boy.

Let the adjuster know, I am concerned about the DV on this and he was quick to cut me off and say since the damage was not structural, it will not affect the value.....lol...as if someone would pay market value for a car that has 1/3 of its exterior repainted with unmatching orange peel.

phuchddang - That is why I wish they would bring the death penalty across the board!! I would love to hang these ****ing losers and cowards that do this sort of ****! what is wrong with our society?!?!

OP - I am sorry to see the ongoing repainting issues....At least they are trying to resolve the issue and not saying its 'good'.

rmason: How come you didn't take your car to a Lexus dealership. Their quality control has to be better than what you got at this shop. We had a metallic white RX350 repaired once at Park Place Lexus here in North Texas and it looked perfect.

Repainting is such a nightmare. We're getting a corner rear bumper repainted by our Lexus dealership before we pick up our CPO and it's been there for a week. First go round, the pearl didn't show as much so our contact there declines it on our behalf. Just playing the waiting game now...

Also, that Starbucks dent and run, holy crap. I would check with Starbucks and ask to see if they caught the license plate in their cam (Hoping they had one).

Hindsight is 20/20 but nowadays, major insurance companies recommend getting it repaired at their participating shops and guarantee satisfaction. Little did i know...if their paint matching skills arent up to par, there's just no way.

I don't understand. When you have contact with a car, you generally call the police and inform them you have rammed another car so they can come and help you find the owner or make a written accident file. Do the people not do that in the USA ?

I don't even think the police will even come to the scene when it's just a door ding.

Benoit - Sadly, many people (if not most) are dishonest and will try and run away as soon as they damage someone's property, that is just the reality of the world we live in
