R1 Concepts Rotors Experience and Rotor questions
Hey guys! Wanted to give you my experiences dealing with R1 Concepts for rotors for my RC350 F SPORT AWD. I also wanted to see if we can set the record straight on the Rotors for the RC Models.
Ordered the E-LINE Rotors last week with through Kevin from R1. Super nice guy who explained to me the difference in the types of rotors they have. As many of you know the F SPORT has a 2 piece rotor that many are replacing with a single cast iron piece. It was time for new rotors for me and I ordered the drilled and slotted rotors for the front and rear. I was assured by Kevin that these are a direct fit to the F SPORT model's rotors.
Delivery to Maryland was pretty quick. I went to a local shop to get them installed. The rears went on without any issue. The front.....well that didn't work out so well. The shop told me that the front rotors were too big in diameter for the caliper (14 inches). I called back to the customer service and they assured me that this was the correct spec for my car. I having my doubts went to another performance shop and they confirmed the same thing as the first. The front is to big.
I have been emailing the customer service guys at R1 explaining the issues and we looked at the Part Numbers for their rotors to confirm they wasn't a mistake. Their rotors are 355mm (14 inches) in diameter and about 31-31mm wide. My original ones were 13.1 inches in diameter. I also reached out to a fellow F SPORT buddy to have him measure his rotors, these also came in at 13.1 inches. Also another thread was made yesterday for another different member with the same issue who had to spend 130 to ship his rotors back to R1 Concepts.
This is the strange part. R1 Concepts isn't necessarily wrong but isn't right either. When you look up F SPORT rotors for the RC350 there are many reviews stating the rotors are a bigger 355mmx30mm or they are 14 inches in diameter. However, it seems that none of us have the 14 inch rotor.
So far the customer service department and I have been communicating through email trying to resolve the issue. They've been pretty good with communicating so far! Also I must add that the rear rotors look and perform great as well.
I will give you updates as this continues!
As this goes forward I have to ask to set the record straight. What size rotors do you guys have? Can we get a diameter measurement for each model, trim, AWD/RWD, and year?

Subscribed. Been considering the one piece rotors since my RC350 is going to need new brakes and rotors in the upcoming months, and saw that one member had an issue with rotor diameter from R1. I'll try to get a measurement of my rotors (F-Sport) tomorrow to contribute to this thread.

They got back to me over the weekend asking for more information on the car. They then pushed the issue to an appropriate department.
My my rear rotors are great. But definitely measure your rotors prior to ordering them. There’s definitely misconstrued info on the front rotor size on the web and according the dealership as well.
I’ll let you guys know if there’s any more updates on this. In the mean time please measure your rotor and let me know what you guys got for the front! Thanks

Hey guys got an email from R1 saying they will give me a refund or exchange a few days ago. I will be ordering the 13.1 inch rotors and will give you guys feedback on this. I am just waiting to hear back on how to shop them.

Hey @rsk121 , the RC350 has the same brakes like the GS350. We realized our catalog doesn't show the option for AWD on the RC350 like it does for the GS350. I have notified the person in charge to fix this and also to add the option for AWD on the website as well. I apologize if you received the wrong front rotors. Hopefully my customer service department was able to help you out to make this right. After these changes happen, hope this doesn't happen to anyone else moving forward.
