Default Brembo Calipers?

can anyone tell me if Brembo makes a bolt on caliper for our cars? while we were at the New York International Auto Show we saw their display and had a bunch of custom colors out. my wife is especially interested in the Tiffany Blue color ones they had (chicks, go figure, lol). anyway, I emailed Brembo but have yet to hear anything back from them. just thought I would post it up here and see if you guys could help? our car is a 2017 200t F Sport.

why spend upwards of $3000K or more to swap out the calipers just for color? just have your OEM calipers powder-coated or painted in the color you want..

unless you plan on tracking the car, you won't see much benefit on the street, except for the added expense in pad and rotor maintenance.

for Brembo Calipers, yes, $3K is probably a conservative estimate. I did the Brembo Grand Turismo Kit on a previous vehicle I did use on the track, and it was $4,500 for just the fronts, (Calipers and Rotors) , not grant I increased the size therefore needed the rotors, but the calipers only are ~$1,800 - $2,200 PER AXEL, depending on the application, (Grand Turismo Kit).

There are "cheaper" kits depending on application, but a quick google will show that they basically start around $1,200 per axel on up to $10K depending on you goals and desires.

Wilwood is another multi-piston, aftermarket solution, they tend to run a bit less than Brembo, and I am actually using them for the 1939 Ford Tudor hot rod I am building, but they still set me back $2K for the front axle only (rears are drums) not counting the other things the hot rod needs to complete the set (brake booster, hard lines, etc.)

$300 to powder coat them in the color you want at any good powder coating shop $50 or less to paint them yourself.

with powder-coat, you will have to break them down (remove the boots, pistons, bleed fittings, etc.) any good shop will do this for you, then rebuild them after they are coated.

if you paint them, then you just need high temp brake caliper paint (any automotive store) mask off everything around them and do it yourself, there are dozens of videos on youtube on how to do it.

There is even a high temp "plasti-dip" I believe for brake calipers, this is a plastic like coating, comes in many colors. the advantage it has is that with a high pressure washer you can remove it (when you turn in the lease) the disadvantage is with a high pressure wash it comes off, so if you take your car to a car wash or use a pressure washer it might peel off.

there are a few different ways to go about it, if your wife is set on the blue, you know what they say, happy wife, happy life.

If you only want the color (and the cool color change at night ) then you could high temperature vinyl wrap on the calipers with a heatgun/hairdryer and a sharp blade. I made some instructions awhile back HERE. Yes, they are still in the exact same condition with NO signs of wear-n-tear since the day I installed them. And, if I ever decide to take them off then you could just heat them up a bit with a heatgun and remove them. EZ

I had my calipers powder coated (gold), and had the pads replaced at the same time, for a pretty reasonable price.

never thought about wrapping them but now my wheels are turning for sure. now I need to source some Tiffany Blue wrap material and give it a shot.

Have a BBK Big Break Kit is almost a must, that is one of the first things to get. I don't like having one caliper big up from & rear small. I don't own the RC anymore but I did buy a used set that goes on the newest IS350 at the Time. Powder coated the & loved them. Very few people have them & they are well worth it. No need to track a car. It's mainly for looks, just like wheels.

Here are some pics.

I actually painted them 3 times. Translucent Tiffany blue, iSF Sport Blue & Candy red. Here's the ISF blue.

I would suggest going to a reputable customs shop and just paying for it. Tiffany blue would look nice
