Default Car stolen - help

I live in northern NJ and had my car stolen at my home. It was found in Coney island Brooklyn after three days and now is recovered.

I called the insurance, lexus customer service, financial and looks like there are nothing they can do.

I don't feel safe driving this car anymore and want to get rid of it or get a replacement or something. ( is this reasonable? )

Or any thoughts? recommendations? help?

Thanks

get it checked out to make sure everything is in order. Is it damaged? Missing parts?

no it is not reasonable to total the car out because it was stolen and recovered presumably intact.

I had both of my keys at home. How was it even possible to get in and start the engine?

I am getting it checked out soon by the insurance but I want to get rid of this car if this is possible.

nothing stops someone from towing it

You could file a claim for diminished value since stolen and recovered car will be on its record, then sell the car

Why would it matter if the car was driven, or towed for EZPass to trigger?

You would still have EZ Pass transactions if the car was being towed.

Keyless entry is convenient, but unfortunately vulnerable. Here is a video

Sorry to hear about your stolen car.
How was it recovered? LoJack? EnForm,? Or just luck with police happened to see it?

BTW, the wireless key fob (any car manufacturer) is easy to defeat in the hands of pros. There was a Canadian TV crew full of tech/video/audio in their company van and they checked into a nice 4/5 star hotel downtown area and later on all their tech gears got stolen!!! I'll try to locate the video to post on here........

Check this out:.
