Default Fit & Finish on wrapped window trim?

So I got my chrome wrapped today and was not happy with fit and finish where the rubber piece lays on the chrome above the window. He agreed it could've been better and is going to wrap it again but he said that "it will never be 100% due to the way the rubber on these cars are, etc". His job on the front grill was perfect so I'd figure the window trim would be a piece of cake. I don't doubt the guy's skills but I'd like to know about yours.

So how is the fit and finish on your wrapped trim around windows ?

I believe it wont be perfect because the wrap has to lay on the chrome, it cant be wrapped behind the trim because the trim is flushed against the actual paint of the car. The RC window trim isn't like other car manufactures where the window trim pieces actually protrude out a bit so you can tuck it behind the trim.

Here are pictures of my windows on my RC and pictures of my 335i trim that has it done also.

Hard to see the imperfections on my window trim with the pictures. Ill have to take more later, but they are there. I had them redo my windows and it came out as best as it could.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'm going to post some pics of mine when I get home from office, but I have a feeling we have the same thing going on. I can't decide if I'd want the wrap to be just a bit too short and exposing a bit of the chrome, or a bit too long where it rests on rubber. Thanks again.

No problem! If you brought it to a reputable place and they have a warranty on their wraps then you should just do what makes you happy because if the wrap does fail you can always bring it in to fix it.

So here's some pics of what I'm talking about

Wrap over rubber:

Wrap not covering chrome:

But they did an awesome job with chrome chrome around grill and matching the color of grill perfectly.

Yup that's exactly how mine looks like. That's the best I think they can do because the trim is flushed with the paint. But regardless it's been staying on perfect. I've had the car washed every week and waxed every other week and no signs of coming off.

If that bothers you too much you could ask them to remove the trim all together off the weather strips and then wrap it but honestly I think that will just cause more problems down the road.

What color is your grill wrap? Glossy black? And window trim is matte or satin?

Satin around the windows and a metallic around the grill. I think he said it's black but it might be charcoal. Carbon fiber lip.

So I got windows re-wrapped and it looks a million times better. They put it over the rubber and carried it to the next crease/shadow. If you're getting yours wrapped I'd do the same since he tried 4 times cutting it at rubber line and still looked bad.
